Diet and lifestyle have been positively associated with the risk of developing breast cancer.
Diet and lifestyle have been positively associated with the risk of developing breast cancer. Studies have shown that women who ate large amounts of poultry, lean protein (at least 10 oz.) found in fish, turkey, eggs, and good protein shakes like those found at Healthy Performance and omega-3 fatty acids (from oils found in fish or from dietary supplements, like Healthy Performance’s Body Shapers, 1800 mg.) had a statistically significant lower risk of death from breast cancer than women who ate the least amounts of these foods and nutrients.
Women who ate more fiber, fish, and vegetables also had a lower risk of death from breast cancer than women who ate less of these foods. Women who had high levels of Calcium (1500 mg. daily) in their diets also had a significantly lower risk of death from breast cancer. Studies also show that women who had higher levels of Vitamins C (2000-4000 mg.) and E (400-800 IU) had lower risks of death from breast cancer. Studies show poorer results with women who ate larger amounts of hydrogenated oils found in processed baked foods and products containing soy. A healthy weight and exercising 3-4 times a week improve the quality of life of both preventing breast cancer and surviving breast cancer. Take charge and be a survivor!
