EduLink Designs New Induction Program Registration System for Allegheny County Teachers

New teachers in PA are required to participate in an Induction Program. The Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) provides such a program for new teachers in the 42 school districts of Allegheny County. As part of the Induction Program, new teachers register for a number of workshops/courses in various learning domains. With hundreds of teachers registering each year, the tracking and monitoring of these activities becomes quite overwhelming. Seeking a solution for this dilemma, the AIU approached EduLink to build an online registration system that would track and manage all of this important information. What resulted from this collaboration was a customized solution that is based upon EduLink's core data-management platform. What once took hours to track and manage, now takes minutes.

Parks and Recreation Departments will Benefit from Course Registration Software Designed for Schools

EduLink's web-based course registration software is being customized for parks and recreation departments to allow residents to register for programs offered by the municipality. The web-based software will use the same technology and design as EduLink's Course Registrar software that is used by intermediate units and educational organizations to allow teachers to register online for classes and workshops. Parks and recreation departments will now be able to post their entire catalogue of activities online so that residents can view and sign up for classes 24 hours a day/7 days a week from any computer with Internet access. Online registration will reduce personnel costs as well as printing and mailing costs. Residents will be able to quickly and easily sign up for activities online rather than through a brochure or mailer.

Allegheny Intermediate Unit 3 Now Uses Course Registrar for Its County-Wide Professional Development Day

After a very thorough search of course registration software options, Allegheny Intermediate Unit 3 has selected EduLink’s Course Registrar System for its county-wide professional development day on October 9, 2006. Over 10,000 teachers from 42 school districts in the Pittsburgh area are now using EduLink’s Course Registrar System to register online. AIU 3 administrators and technology department worked with EduLink to customize the online registration system to meet the specific needs of the large number of teachers that the system must accommodate. A customized proposal management system was also created by EduLink to enable AIU3 to accept over 500 presentation proposals online. The system allowed the AIU3 administrators to review, edit, comment, and schedule all of the proposals directly into the course registration system.

AIU 3 Selects EduLink to Host Entire Catalogue of Professional Development Offerings

Credit and non-credit classes are available through the new EduLink system. Every teacher from the 42 school districts in Allegheny County and the Diocese of Pittsburgh now uses EduLink’s Course Registrar System to register for all of the AIU3 classes, workshops, and activities. The entire system is seamlessly connected to EduLink’s Act 48 Credit Keeper back-end XML platform which submits all of the Act 48 continuing education credits and hours directly to the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s PERMS system.
